Plastic Graphics was acquired in 1987 and within two years became one of the largest card manufacturers on the West Coast of the United States. In 1995, CPI Card Group – Colorado, Inc., was acquired. In 1999, Plastic Graphics changed its corporate name to California Plasticard, and jointly with Colorado Plasticard, they became CPI Card Group. In 2004 the Los Angeles facility relocated to Las Vegas. In 2008, CPI acquired Didier Printing in Fort Wayne, Indiana; PCC in Colchester and Liverpool, England; and a facility in Toronto, Canada.

Today, CPI Card Group has the largest card production capacity in the United States and second largest in the world. As prepaid cards start to pervade in many applications across payment, gift, government and enterprise, we are very excited about the opportunities for cards in the future.
